Most of these components are also available separately. However, there is a 5% package discount built into the kit pricing.
These AC conversion systems are suitable for advanced conversions of small cars and pickups as well as vans and SUVs up to 3,500 lbs. original curb weight. The systems work with medium range battery pack voltages (144-156 volts) as well as high voltages (288-336 volts). They can be used with the original manual transmission, or in a direct drive configuration and also provide regenerative braking. Vehicles using these systems can achieve top speeds of 70 mph (depending on configuration), and a range of 50 miles or more (depending on duty cycle, configuration and battery pack). Typical energy usage for a compact car with a 156V system would be 174 Wh/mile, and for a heavier vehicle such as a pickup truck with a 300V system would be 288 Wh/mile.
These are integrated drive systems, with the motor, controller, and charger all custom configured at the manufacturer to fit YOUR conversion. For this reason, we need very specific information about your system to place your order, including intended battery pack voltage and battery model number, or battery type (flooded, gel, AGM, etc.) and amp hour rating at the 20 hr. rate.

Voltsporsche AC 914 Kit
This is an AC version of our custom Voltsporsche kit specifically designed to fit all years of the 4 cylinder manual transmission Porsche 914 (and ONLY 914s - NO other models, NO other makes, PERIOD. No 911s, no Ghias, ONLY THE 914) It uses the original manual transmission with a 144V pack of U.S. Battery 8V batteries, and includes regenerative braking. The motor/controller system is manufactured by Solectria/Azure Dynamics. This car has a top speed of 100 mph, and a range of 150 miles under optimum conditions. It represents the ultimate combination of performance, range, and affordability.

These are "Universal" kits, in the sense that they are not designed for any specific model of vehicle. They contain the drive components that are common to any conversion. It is left to the installer to design and fabricate the pieces that will customize the kit to his or her chosen chassis. These installer-designed parts include battery racks and boxes, various component mounts, and suspension modifications. Suitable conversions:
This kit mounts the motor to the car's original manual transmission. The one custom piece that is included is the motor/transmission adaptor. We have a substantial library of adaptor patterns, and often an adaptor for one model of car will cross over to another model that you might not expect. Check the list on our adaptor page.

This kit eliminates the transmission for smooth driving without shifting gears on front engine/front wheel drive vehicles. The kit includes the Solectria AT1200 gearbox and halfshafts with inner CV joints. You will need to take the halfshafts in the kit to an axle shop to cut to the appropriate length and fit with appropriate outer CV joints for your chassis.
